  • The WaterCar EV is a custom, hand-built vehicle made to order, similar to aircraft, the finest boats, and luxury sports cars. Unlike mass-produced boats, the pricing for each WaterCar EV varies depending on the intended use, options, and outboard selection. Due to the intensive labor required to build each WaterCar EV, the pricing is not fixed.

    We are accepting orders and delivering on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your spot, you will need to make an initial refundable deposit.

  • The WaterCar EV is meticulously hand-built and tailored to each customer's specifications, crafted from advanced aluminum alloys with the precision of an aircraft, the finest boats, and luxury sports cars. Unlike mass-produced boats, our vehicles are built to last a lifetime. Our elite team of world-class designers and builders completes this process in just 8-12 weeks, delivering an exceptional and exciting vehicle that exceeds expectations.

    The $5,000 refundable deposit is required to secure a position in our production schedule. As with most high-end vehicles, it is common to submit a deposit. This helps ensure the seriousness of prospective buyers and allows us to manage our resources effectively.

  • Yes, the WaterCar is street legal. It has a VIN number for registration similar to other cars on the road. Typically you must have dual registration, both for car and as a boat.

  • Yes, you can go for a test drive with us!

    As part of our policy, we require the refundable deposit prior to scheduling a test drive of the WaterCar EV. The deposit allows the option to schedule a test drive.

    We typically spend about 4 hours with you, which includes driving on land and water, demonstrating all functionalities, and allowing you to operate the vehicle yourself.

  • Yes, WaterCar is the only amphibious vehicle manufacturing company that is Coast Guard-approved and has passed the stringent Coast Guard requirements, although amphibious vehicles are not required, WaterCar does not compromise in safety.

  • Yes, we designed the length of the vehicle to fit inside a standard garage both in height and length. 19 feet by 6.5 feet. Similiar side to a regular sized truck.

  • The WaterCar EV is designed to utilize a standard household 2 prong plug - 110 volt or 220 volt depending on which country. It is a smart charger and automatically detects the voltage (max is 220 volt).

  • Yes, WaterCar has warranties specific to all vehicle parts. For example, the Mercury Outboard has an OEM warranty from the factory, and the lithium battery has an 8-year warranty from the factory. The warranty will depend on which part.

  • The simple answer is because WaterCar has always been on the leading edge of technology! The whole world is going electric.

  • At present, outboard motor manufacturers are diligently working to create high-performance electric outboards. Although this is an emerging technology, there's intense competition to be the first to offer a high-horsepower electric outboard by early 2025. WaterCar is closely monitoring these advancements. As major OEMs finalize their testing and designs, the race tightens. WaterCar is poised and ready for this evolution; the moment an electric outboard is launched, inaddtion to our hybrid version already available, we will introduce the fully electric version of WaterCar-EV. We anticipate that by the end of 2023, WaterCar will offer a fully electric option.

  • Yes, the vehicle components have been corrosion protected and can be used in both salt and fresh water. Salt water would need to be rinsed off similar to any boat.

  • Amphibious vehicle registration and licensing requirements are unlike any other transportation type depending on the country and state it is used in.

    Amphibious vehicles may be required to be registered and licensed for both water use and road use.

    WaterCar is a U.S. Coast Guard registered boat builder. The WaterCar EV comes with a registered U.S. Coast Guard hull number so it can be licensed for water usage most anywhere in the world.

    WaterCar is registered with NHTSA and DOT so your WaterCar EV will have a vehicle VIN # similar to a regular car that you would drive on the highway.

    We recommend you check with the local governing authority as to what is legally needed to operate an Amphibious vehicle in your area.

  • WaterCar sells and ships vehicles worldwide. Our vehicles have shipped to hundreds of countries around the world. They are delivered FOB - Fountain Valley, CA, USA.

  • This is dependent on your local governing authority. In most states in the USA, there is a requirement to have a drivers license on land and a boaters license on water. WaterCar would typically follow the same regulations for a car and boat.

  • Yes, the rear wheels need to be down and there is an attachment on the front of the WaterCat-EV that allows it to be towed at highway speeds. There is no need to decide whether to bring a car or boat behind your motorhome, bring both with your WaterCar-EV!

  • Absolutely, the WaterCar-EV can be used in open water. Please monitor Coast Guard recommendations for vessel size, and weather reports for safe operations.

  • No. Only cash or credit card. An initial deposit will be required before we start work on your vehicle.

  • The WaterCar-EV land systems require less maintenance than most cars, because it is electric! The WaterCar-EV boat systems would be similar to most boats with an outboard. WaterCar recommends regular washes after use and WD-40 on the suspension components, especially after use in Salt Water.

  • Yes, WaterCars are sold worldwide and all over the US. We sell FOB, which means any taxes, shipping costs, or other fees depend on where the vehicle’s final destination is. WaterCar does not collect these.
